Real-world examples of the scale in action:
- General:
- India: Known in South Indian Carnatic music as Raga Dhenuka (mela #9), named for a legendary donkey-demon who terrorised the cowherds of Yamuna before being slain by Lord Krishna’s elder brother Balarama. So far, I can’t trace any exact instances of the scale in the North Indian classical repertoire.
